Slow motion

Some moments are too fast for the naked eye. A milkshake rolling over the rim, a splash of milk into a bowl of granola, chocolate slowly flowing. In slow motion you see every detail, and that’s exactly where the appetite is.

We film with high-speed cameras and a team that can repeat the perfect pour, splash or drop until everything is right. That gives your product that one tempting moment that sticks.

Questions about slow motion

  • How is a slow-motion video made?

We film with a camera that records far more frames per second than normal. Played back at regular speed, the movement slows down. That turns a splash or a pour into a small spectacle lasting a few seconds.

  • What is the difference between slow motion and high-speed?

Regular slow motion slows a movement down a few times. High-speed filming goes much further, so you see a splash or drop almost standing still. Which speed works best depends on what you want to show.

  • How often does a splash need to be redone?

Sometimes a few times, sometimes many more: liquids rarely do the same thing twice. We repeat the take until shape and timing are perfect, and make sure there is enough product and glassware ready.

  • What is slow motion best used for?

For anything that flows, splashes, melts or falls: drinks, sauces, chocolate and dairy. It works well in commercials, on social media and as an eye-catcher on your website.

  • Can you also take photos from slow motion?

Yes. With the right camera we pull sharp stills from the footage. For the sharpest images at large size, though, we prefer to also shoot separately with flash.
