Frequently asked questions
-
What does Foodphoto do?
Foodphoto is a Belgian food content studio founded in 1988. We produce food photography, food videography, food styling and bespoke AI imagery for FMCG brands and agencies across Europe.
-
Where is Foodphoto based?
Foodphoto is based in Ghent, Belgium, at Dok Noord 4E 005. We serve clients across Europe from our dedicated studio facility with four fully equipped kitchens.
-
What types of clients does Foodphoto work with?
We work primarily with FMCG brands, food companies, marketing managers and creative agencies across Europe. Our clients range from established global brands to ambitious food start-ups.
-
What is Foodphoto.AI
Foodphoto.AI is our bespoke AI imagery service. Unlike generic AI tools, we train custom models on your specific brand, product and visual identity. Every output goes through studio-level curation before delivery via our proprietary client platform.
-
What is the difference between food photography and food styling at Foodphoto?
Food photography covers the full production of still imagery — from packshots and e-commerce visuals to full campaign content. Food styling is the craft of preparing and presenting food for camera, and can be booked as a standalone consultancy or as part of a full shoot production.

How do I get a quote from Foodphoto?
You can reach us at info@foodphoto.be or seppe@foodphoto.be, or call +32 9 372 96 95. We're happy to discuss your project and provide a tailored quote.
-
Do you travel for shoots, or only work in-studio?
Both. Most productions happen in our four studios and kitchens in Ghent, but we also shoot on location when a brief calls for it — restaurants, retail environments, outdoor settings, wherever the story needs to be told.
-
How much does a food photography shoot cost?
It depends entirely on scope: number of images, styling complexity, whether video is involved, and production length. We're happy to give you a tailored quote once we understand your brief — reach out and we'll talk it through.
-
Do you work with small brands and start-ups, or only large FMCG companies?
Both. We work with major global brands, but we also actively partner with food start-ups — helping them get professional imagery from day one so they can grow, the same way we've grown alongside clients like Foodbag.
-
Do you offer video as well as photography?
Yes. Photography and videography are produced side by side at Foodphoto, often from the same shoot day, so stills and motion content share consistent styling, light and mood.
-
Can I see more examples of your work before getting in touch?
Yes. Browse our case studies for full client projects, or the gallery for a broader look at our range across photography, video and styling.
-
How does Foodphoto.AI differ from generic AI image tools?
Generic AI tools generate everything, including the food itself — which rarely looks convincing. Foodphoto.AI never fakes the food: your product is always shot, styled and lit by our team. AI expands what's around it — environments, moods, backgrounds — trained on your specific brand rather than a generic model, with every output reviewed and curated by us before delivery.
-
What do I need to prepare before a shoot?
We'll guide you through this during briefing, but generally: final or near-final product samples, any brand guidelines or reference imagery, and a sense of the deliverables you need (formats, aspect ratios, channels). Our project managers handle the logistics from there.
-
Do you work directly with brands, or only through agencies?
Both. We partner directly with marketing teams at food brands, and we work alongside creative agencies as their production partner — often for years-long relationships, like our work with Happiness Brussels on Quick.
